Biography
Tisha Ornstein received her doctorate from the University of Cambridge, England in 2001. After completing graduate school, she returned home to Toronto to work at The Hospital for Sick Children in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division. Prior to completing post graduate work, she trained as a clinical neuropsychologist, working at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute in the neurology department. Following further internship training and a return to research, she became a licensed practitioner in 2005. At around the same time, she began working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Ryerson University.
Her teaching interests include courses in cognitive neuroscience, biological psychology, abnormal psychology, child psychopathology and clinical psychology.
In terms of research, over the past several years, she has supervised students with varying levels of research experience (volunteers to Ph.D. level students) on projects that emphasis neurocognition, psychological factors, and pain, in patients with TBI, and individuals with OCD and ADHD.
