I started volunteering with the IMPACT Lab in May 2015. As a volunteer, I have conducted assessments and provided treatment as part of randomized controlled trials in the lab. I am currently in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at Toronto Metropolitan University where I work under the supervision of Dr. Kelly McShane. Broadly, my academic interests are in cross-cultural mental health, including the adaptation, delivery, and evaluation of mental health interventions for individuals often overlooked by mainstream mental health services. For my PhD dissertation, I am examining the risk and resilience factors for comorbid psychopathology of individuals displaced in post-conflict northern Sri Lanka. In line with my interests in global mental health, I am thrilled to be part of the IMPACT Lab and expanding my skills and knowledge in trauma treatments.
