Dr. Marco D. T. Scanavino is a psychiatrist and a doctorate in the field of Psychiatry. He also holds a post-doctorate in the area of Infectology. He is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry of University of São Paulo (USP), Post-graduation Professor, Pathophysiology Program, University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP) and an Assistant physician of Clinicas Hospital of FMUSP (HCFMUSP). He is also the director of the Excessive Sexual Drive and Prevention of Sexual Negative Outcomes Outpatient Unit (AISEP) of the Institute of Psychiatry of the HCFMUSP. He develops research on compulsive sexual behavior, hypersexuality, sexual risk behavior, severe mental illness, and medical education. He has authored more than 100 publications, including papers, abstracts, and chapters.
