Biography

Before attending Ryerson, I completed my bachelor’s degree at McGill University and worked as a research assistant for at the National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in Boston. Currently, as a member of the Borderline Personality Disorder & Emotion Processing lab, my interests range from mechanisms of change in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to basic processes underlying emotion regulation. I am particularly interested in mindfulness and self-compassion and my masters thesis examined the effect of mindfulness on suicidality over 20 weeks of DBT. During my doctoral training, I plan to continue this area of research with a focus on developing novel ways of operationalizing and measuring mindfulness and compassion.
