Biography

  • Richard is a PhD student in the BEP lab. He completed a BA (Hons.) in Psychology at York University and an MA in Clinical Psychology at Ryerson University in 2017. His MA thesis explored mechanisms that account for the link between perfectionism and suicide. Richard’s research interests focus on mechanisms of change in psychotherapy, emotion regulation, and suicide. He has worked in the Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and recently completed a practicum at St. Michael’s Hospital. He is currently completing his second practicum in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where he conducts assessments and evidence-based individual/group therapy.
