In the closing chapter of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s report it states, “Reconciliation calls for personal action” (p. 316). Time and again the commissioners have emphasized the Calls to Action in the report are for all Canadians. It is everyone’s shared responsibility to become familiar with, understand, and personally work to address these Calls to Action.

The Aboriginal Education Council and the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Ryerson University invite you to build your awareness and understanding of the report and how you might contribute. Part of the Council’s vision and goal is to participate in developing a new relationship of truth and reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people at Ryerson and in the community at large, based on knowledge and respect.

Join us for a discussion on how the TRC report intersects with our Academic Plan. Learn about the Calls to Action, especially those targeted at post-secondary institutions and identify opportunities for all of us to respond collectively and individually.
