Dana Claxton is a Hunkpapa Lakota photographer and filmmaker; subsequently examining the ways in which Indigenous peoples are represented and stereotyped in popular culture, while simultaneously investigating Indigenous beauty, contemporary culture, and spirituality.

Join Dana Claxton, the winner of the 2020 Scotiabank Photography Award as she embarks on discussing her critically acclaimed practices and works. Claxton’s work will be displayed in this season’s Scotiabank Photography Award exhibition, beginning September 15, 2021 at the RIC.
