(Ryerson Image Arts Building shining Pride Proud)
Ryerson celebrates Pride with a slew of events, beginning with the raising of the quad pride flag followed by a candlelight vigil and moment of silence in recognition of the lives lost and those injured in Orlando, on June 21st (12:30-1:00 p.m.).
On June 23 at 4:30 p.m., LGBTQIA Ryersonians and allies are invited to Queer Cheer, an off-campus social event at Pogue Mahone (777 Bay St.). RSVP at the link below.
The rest of the month is packed with more parties, film screening, the RyePRIDE community BBQ (June 30th, 5:00-8:00pm), the RyePRIDE flag raising and street fair (June 27th, starting at 12:00pm), an evening with none other than George Takei (June 26th, 7:00-10:00pm), and – of course – the opportunity to walk as part of the Ryerson community at the Trans March (July 1st, 7:00-9:00p.m. Rally at Church and Hayden Streets), Dyke March (July 2nd, 2:00p.m. Rally at Bloor and Church Streets), and Pride Parade (July 3rd, 1:30p.m. Bloor and Jarvis Streets (look for Ryerson banners).
This is only a tiny sampling of the incredible events the university has planned to celebrate our community.
