Noah Davis was an American painter, installation artist, and founder of the Underground Museum in Los Angeles, CA.

“Painting does something to your soul that nothing else can,” Davis explains. “It’s visceral and immediate and is always readdressed in new ways that keep it relevant.”

Noah Davis utilized painting to encompass the “instances where black aesthetics and modernist aesthetics collide;” seeking to bring seminal, contemporary art to black and brown neighbourhoods – where access is not easily granted.

Noah Davis utilized his transcendent and evocative imagination to examine the difficulty and uncertainty of day-to-day life, as well as the profundity of African American history. Raw. Real. Lived-Experience.
