A major research focus of the Psychophysiology Lab is stress. Topics of research in stress range from examining the conceptualization of stress, methodologies used to study stress, and ways in which people alleviate stress using forms of social support (e.g., pets). In addition, the Psychophysiology Lab currently hosts the departmental Stress Research Interest Group [SRIG], a monthly research meeting discussing the latest research and developments in stress.
