Position: Lab Manager/Research Assistant
Start Date: May 2021
Max is entering his final year of undergraduate studies in psychology. Max joined the Cognitive Aging Lab in the spring of 2021 as a research assistant, and currently serves as one of the co-lab managers. In the Cognitive Aging Lab, Max has led a study examining psychological effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on undergraduate students. Specifically, this study examined psychological experiences and sociodemographic factors that predict academic motivation in students. Max is currently preparing a manuscript for this study.
Max was awarded a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) with Dr. Lixia Yang of the Cognitive Aging Lab in the summer of 2022. Max’s broad research interests include cognitive psychology, particularly as it pertains to education and school systems. Max hopes to pursue graduate studies in the fields of mental health and education.
