Honours B. Sc., Specialist in Psychology and Major in Human Biology, University of Toronto, 2011
Ling joined the lab as a Master student in Fall 2012. She is interested in examining potential cultural effects on human cognition, such as attention and memory performance. For instance, her master’s study compared Canadian and Chinese younger adults’ ability to recall contextual information associated with studied faces. In addition, she is interested in studying the age-related emotional bias effect in tasks that require interference resolution.
Research Experience:
- Master’s Thesis:
Cultural Differences in Memory for Faces and Associated Perceptual versus Social Contexts, Ryerson University, 2014. - Master’s Practicum:
Analysis of Magnetoencephalography (MEG) data collected from neuropsychological patients. Ryan Lab (supervisor Dr. Jennifer Ryan), Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest Hospital, Toronto, 2013. - Undergraduate Research Study:
Age-related Differences in the Ability to Inhibit Irrelevant Semantic Information in a Reading with Distraction Task. Hasher Lab (supervisor Dr. Lynn Hasher), University of Toronto, Toronto, 2011.
